So... the Yes on 8 voters seem rather annoyed that we haven't just shut up in the wake of the popularity contest vote called Proposition 8.
They are saying things like why boycott business's who voted Yes on 8 or gave money?
Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? The American Family Association and other organizations like them have a long history of boycotts.
Remember their I'm not lovin' it boycott of McDonalds? The reason for this boycott was that a McDonald's VP was on the board of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
How about the Ford boycott? Because they supported gay marriage?
How about the Mrs. Field's Boycott because they didn't want to use the word Christmas?
And while not official boycotts, they do point out the horrible things companies are doing like Campbell's and Target who have the audacity to give benefits to same sex partners or offer diversity training? Geesh. Shame on them for helping flush our country down the drain.
I got an idea - let's try to force companies to follow OUR morality! Oh, and in the process we might tell a few lies.
How about this site: Christian Boycotts
If gay groups want to boycott business's that denied equality, I'm all for it. And please, Yes on 8 people - stop with this "do as I say and not as I do" policy because it's not flattering and certainly not making you look very Christian.

I agree. They are just looking for something to complain about because they are not happy with the way things are going.
People are ALWAYS protesting businesses for something. If people want to boycott a business because they supported Prop 8, they should go for it.
Is there a list of businesses that supported Prop 8?
We need to get out there and be more organized. Gays aren't the only ones that are mad about this. I have seen my share of straights ranting with such passion you'd think the voters took away their own rights.
The fact is we need to come together not only as a gay community, but as a community of people against inequality. We need the help of all of our allies around the country whether they're gay, or straight because I know they they're itching to get out and show support for their closest friends.
Instead of no gays for a day, why not organize a day of protest by all those that support equality. That would be huge.
REALITY CHECK FOR MORMONS (and the Christian Right) - If YOU come into my home and threaten my FAMILY, YOU will have to suffer the consequences.
How else can you characterize what the Mormons and "Christians" have done with PROP 8?
There is PLENTY of tragic examples about the suffering caused by Marriage Inequality, suffering endured by mothers, fathers, children.....you know, FAMILIES.
So they need to be honest with themselves - THEY brought all of this on. My husband Bob and I were just sitting at home, watching COUNTDOWN on MSNBC, drinking a cup of coffee and bothering NO ONE, when THEY created, bought, and sold PROPOSITION 8 to the people of California. CRIMINAL!

yes... A no gays for a day day only in CA is limited. A "Don't go to work day if you support marriage equality" all across the country would have a HUGE impact. not everyone who suppose marriage equality can or would participate but many would. That also helps with the problem of being targeted by discriminatory jobs if you only had a "gay day" and you weren't at work.
If you go to this site you can type in your state, city or zip code to find all the donors in your area and how much they gave. I know it isn't saying than an entire business supported Prop 8, but it is interesting regardless. A neighbor of mine, who is a real estate agent, gave $5,000 in support of Prop 8. :(

Some of us have HAD IT! We will be responding with a NON-Violent Solution: The NATIONAL EQUALITY TAX PROTEST will be on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009.
Individuals are FINALLY gathering to TAKE A STAND against persecution from the Mormons & the Christian "Right". No vote will be needed on this one, folks.
EQUALITY is SIMPLE when you simply include EVERYONE.
